Sinful Sunday Monthly Prompt Feb 2015

The prompt for Feb 2015 is; Abstract Photography

There is no industry standard of what Abstract Photography is, in fact by its very nature it is abstract and therefore highly subjective but for the purpose of this prompt I have used a definition that I found on a site that has written a whole series of posts about this subject so….

  • Does not represent the subject in a literal way.
  • Communicates primarily through form, color, and curves rather than image detail.

To help you with this here is the article I mentioned above. Sadly he does not cover portrait or nude photography but he does cover a lot of detail about this subject that should be useful. If you scroll the bottom you will find a link to the next article in the series. There are 4 in total!

Abstract Photography (Part 1)

Also here are a few links to images that I think fall into this style

String of Passion by Love Hate Sex Cake

Light and Form by Penny

Pencil skirt by Maria Opens Up

Or Google ‘Abstract Photography nude’ and will see a huge variety of images that will hopefully inspire you.

The prompt is published here on the site mid month, which will give people approximately 2 weeks to work on their idea before linking in, on the 1st weekend of the month. The prompt is completely optional and you can link in as normal on that weekend whether you have used the prompt or not. The usual Sinful Sunday rules will, of course, apply. Please make sure you have read them recently so that you are fully aware of what is and is not allowed.

As always interpret as you wish, or disregard altogether and do you own thing.

Have your post ready to go for Sunday 1st February 2015. Any questions or queries can be posted in the comments below, you can email me [email protected] or tweet me @mollysdailykiss
