Sinful Sunday Monthly Prompt January 2016
The prompt for 3rd January 2016 is: Windows
This is a prompt that combines a slight technical challenge and subject challenge. Taking photos near, by or through windows can be tough because controlling the light in the image is essential. Get it wrong and your image will be overly bright by the window, blowing out any detail that might be there whilst at the same time plunging your ‘subject’ into darkness. It can produce fabulous silhouettes though but you still need to be careful otherwise you will end up with a bright halo around your silhouette that will distort things too much.
Windows can be used to frame your image and give light to it, as well as tell a story. They have a magical way of creating an image with a very voyeuristic feel, often leaving the viewer wondering who is watching who. Of course that can be further enhanced if you step outside and shoot back through the window. Now the viewer is most definitely the one with their nose pressed up against the glass.

Of course there is crossover between all of these but hopefully this will help to give you ideas.
The prompt is published here on the site mid month, which will give people approximately 2 weeks to work on their idea before linking in, on the 1st weekend of the month. The prompt is completely optional and you can link in as normal on that weekend whether you have used the prompt or not. The usual Sinful Sunday rules will, of course, apply.
