Sinful Sunday Monthly Prompt June 2021

The prompt for 6th June 2021 is: Triptych

Time to redo another topic. When we did this one before this is what I wrote

The word triptych comes the Greek tri, i.e. “three” and ptysso, i.e. “to fold” or ptyx, i.e. “fold”) and is a work of art (usually a panel painting) that is divided into three sections, or three carved panels which are hinged together and can be folded shut or displayed open. Triptychs came about as a form of early Christian art and are still commonly found in many churches today. However this is about photography, not works of religious art and the style and form of triptychs lend themselves perfectly to photography.

So your task is to create a triptych image (that you would never find on the altar of a church) Your triptych maybe one image split into 3 or 3 images centred around a theme. Either way, the point of a Triptych is to, in some form or other, create a relationship between the 3 panels which tell a ‘story’ or represent a thought/idea/concept.

Traditionally Triptychs always had a larger centre panel with two smaller panels each size but you do not have to stick to this layout. Your Triptych can be horizontal or vertical and the panels can be of equal size or not in any configuration but there must be ONLY 3 panels. The subject matter is completely up to you, but there should be some hint or suggestion of the erotic at the very least.

The prompt is published here on the site mid month, which will give people approximately 2 weeks to work on their idea before linking in, on the 1st weekend of the month. The prompt is completely optional and you can link in as normal on that weekend whether you have used the prompt or not. The usual Sinful Sunday rules will, of course, apply. Please make sure you have read them recently so that you are fully aware of what is and is not allowed. As always interpret as you wish, or disregard altogether and do you own thing. Have your post ready to go for Sunday 6th June 2021. Any questions or queries can be posted in the comments below, you can email me [email protected] or tweet me @mollysdailykiss
