Sinful Sunday Weekly Round-up 265
Welcome to another round-up post. If you are wondering about next months prompt keep an eye out early next week for that to be published. In the meantime it is my great pleasure to welcome Melina Greenport to the round-up
Melina’s Top 5 Pics of the Week
When Molly asked me to participate in Sinful Sunday by choosing a Top 5, I was elated. Reviewing the posts this week reminded me of probably my very favorite thing about this community: you’re all so fabulously creative. It was so challenging to choose just five.
In all of your photos I see incredible imagination and positive energy, bravery and beauty, ingenuity and adventure. Your images show Depth and Spirit and Heart and Play—all the best parts of being alive; they are a gift. So thank you, each of you, for making art and sharing it.
And thank you Molly, for allowing me to join in the fun this way. You are such a light in this world.
I love the natural framing of this photo, the light reflecting off the toy, the voyeuristic opportunity it gives because her back is turned. Like we’re just watching a day-in-the-life. But I’ll tell you a secret: the biggest reason this photo pleases me is the way those kitchen tools are organized on the wall. They feel like a detail in a fabulous short story.
Here is a perfect celebration of the bounty of spring. I love the light and shadows across her skin, the way she is among the branches and flowers. So lush. I first saw this photo on Sunday, when the U.S. celebrated Mother’s Day. This photo is utterly sexy, yes, and it also sings “Mother Earth” with glee!
Elsewhere in the enchanted forest, Eve awaits. Or is that our Fair Molly? Such beautiful shapes and warm colors. I love the selective focus of this shot and that the leaves have insect bite marks. The composition with the tree trunk grounding the right side of the frame is pleasing, while the left side draws us in, as if the Goddess in the photo is inviting us to move into the clearing to dance with her.
Simply awesome! Of the four shots offered, I was drawn to the one in the lower right corner. When I clicked on this still in particular, my response was a visceral Wow! I love the surreal quality of legs in the air. The hotel lighting and linens and symmetry are pleasing to the eye. But mostly it’s the joy of flight and skin and play that makes this stand out to me.
Oh Maria. Maria. Sigh. This photo has a striking ethereal quality lent by the graininess and lighting, and also by the beauty of the pale color palette. It really is possible to see a landscape in her form from left to right: arm, breast (so sexy!), nose & forehead & cascading water, breast (so sexy!), arm. I love the bottom of the frame, too, where the hair splashes to the floor. Magnifique!
Blast from the Past
Sinful Sunday Week 144 – Understanding Flutterby
I love the shape of Flip’s body in this image, the deep dip into her waist and how it extenuates the beautiful curve of her bottom. Also the way the corset ties sit on her bottom as if inviting to be pulled is just perfect.
