Sinful Sunday Monthly Prompt April 2022

The prompt for 3rd April 2022 is: Backlighting

Backlighting your image means placing your subject into front of the light source. That might be natural light or artificial light. If you put the light directly behind the subject you are most likely to get a silhouette but there are many other options when it comes to back lighting that will create various different outcomes such as sunlight bursts and flares and rim lighting where the outline of the subject catches the light. Here is a guide to backlighting. It is a little technical in places and and assumes you are using a DSLR but even for phone camera folks you can get ideas and tips from it.

As usual some inspiration to help you

The prompt is published here on the site mid month, which will give people approximately 2 weeks to work on their idea before linking in, on the 1st weekend of the month. The prompt is completely optional and you can link in as normal on that weekend whether you have used the prompt or not. The usual Sinful Sunday rules will, of course, apply. Please make sure you have read them recently so that you are fully aware of what is and is not allowed. As always interpret as you wish, or disregard altogether and do you own thing.
