Sinful Sunday Weekly Round-up 413

Straight into this week because my life is currently absorbed with some conference this weekend….. This week my lovely guest Joy is here for the first time doing the round-up. You can find her on her own blog Joy As She Flies and on Twitter @BeStillMyBeaten
Joy’s Top 5 Pics
Good Lord, picking five of my favourites out of this group of photos was a task and a half. Like voting for my three favourite Smut Marathon stories at the end of last week, doing this roundup gave a real insight into the true meaning of the phrase ‘embarrassment of riches’. I genuinely could have picked at least another five of this week’s images, but I’ve restricted myself to these because I’m verbose enough at the best of times.
The thing I loved most about this image is that it reminded me what it’s like to feel all loose and languorous in the heat, one of my very favourite sensations. The colour of the water is obviously the first thing that catches the eye, but it manages to capture how in high temperatures everything can start to feel fuzzy and very sharp at the same time. I also really enjoyed the fact that I had to squint a little to see the figure in the photo- it felt pleasantly voyeuristic!
The lighting in this picture is just beautiful, emphasising the contrast between the model’s very smooth and soft looking skin and the rougher fibres of the rope, so neatly tied, with the filaments caught in such minute detail. All the photos I’ve picked triggered a desire to replicate them myself somehow, but maybe this one most of all; I don’t have a huge amount of experience with rope but looking at this image I could practically feel it against my skin and it set off a little bit of a craving.
Speaking as an intermittent and, to be honest, fairly rubbish yogi looking at this photo of Tabitha filled me with admiration. It radiates such stillness, mindfulness and power, and there’s something so erotic about seeing someone exert mastery over their body like this- making something very hard look very easy.
Sometimes bodies won’t be mastered- they have their own ideas. There’s something so pleasingly matter of fact about Rosie’s decision to respond to internal messages about whether her walking stick could be sexy by taking naughty selfies with it. To me this just encapsulates the power erotic photography can hold, helping us re- tell our own stories and reshape the ways we see ourselves. And the pictures are also hot as fuck in their own right: Lordy me, that mouth…
The Lexy Experiment
I find myself returning to this photo (both versions of it)- I just want to keep looking at it. The folds of the fabric are like sculpture, the mix of light and shadow is so intriguing; I think I keep looking because I’m hoping that I’ll be able to see more in the shadows, and don’t the very sexiest things always leave you dying to know more?
