Sinful Sunday Monthly Prompt Sept 2020

The prompt for 6th September 2020 is: Black and White

We originally did this prompt back in May 2014. I feel like sufficient time has passed to warrant revisiting this topic. As I said at the time this is about black and white images, no sepia tones, no split tones or colour splash.

However if you wish to post the colour version of your image alongside your black and white to illustrate how black and white has changed the image then please feel free to do that.

My one black and white editing tip for you is that often increasing the contrast and clarity can make for more dramatic contrasts and therefore a stronger image but I really do encourage you play around with the setting regardless of whether that is in something like Snapseed on your phone of something like Lightroom or Photoshop.

The prompt is published here on the site mid month, which will give people approximately 2 weeks to work on their idea before linking in, on the 1st weekend of the month. The prompt is completely optional and you can link in as normal on that weekend whether you have used the prompt or not. The usual Sinful Sunday rules will, of course, apply. Please make sure you have read them recently so that you are fully aware of what is and is not allowed. As always interpret as you wish, or disregard altogether and do you own thing. Have your post ready to go for Sunday 6th Septemer 2020. Any questions or queries can be posted in the comments below, you can email me [email protected] or tweet me @mollysdailykiss
